Kobudo ("ancient way") is the practice of using weapons for self-defense purposes.  Weapons include:

  • Bo (fighting staff)
  • Nunchaku

Kumite

Kumite (literally "grappling hands") is the practice of free sparring.  In Kumite, you develop fighting skills by sparring with other opponents in a competitive but safe setting using protective gear and pulling punches to avoid injury.

Kihon

Kihon ("basic or fundamental") refers to the foundational aspects of karate, including blocking, striking, footwork (stances) designed to teach and perfect an individual's training.
